I do hope it arrives during the 40th Anniversary year...

They want them delivered this month

How do you know  that?

They are included in November forecast

All I can see is wind, rain and frost

So what forecast is that?

My dealer called me last week to say mine is built and reckons they're coming through in a couple of weeks right now

Very excited but people keep telling me I'd be mad to use it

What are you going to do with it if you don't use it?

I've seen enough track days with 991 GT3 RS being used in anger to not feel too precious.
At least with CSS and you can use it as you wish and depreciation should be minimal.
I'd rather have a tracked but unmodified CSS than a road use car that's been modified in anyway

Agreed, I said I'm too old to be precious about a Golf, even if it's worth money one day I'll be brown bread by then

After all I had no issue ragging my new 997 RS from new

No change in status on mine ... Its such a pity a car like this is launched in November - takes the edge totally off the excitement for me - although on ECOTY the CS-S was praised for road holding in all conditions which is surprising giving FWD and Cup tyres ... The guys with GT4's and those tyres say they're incredible when warm and dry but unpredictable when cold and wet ... my GT4 has the Dunlops which are a little better in the wet so i believe, not that my car ever sees the wet anyway ... HaHa

Unpredictable is a very good description of Cup 2s in the wet especially when they are not brand new

Ran them on my R at a sprint which was wet as did not have chance to put a set of super sports on, the car for something with 4wd was a joke, on the plus side the GT4 owner was also having issues on them. The issue was getting heat into them at the rear on the Golf which was compounded further by haldex but power to cold tyres at the rear

These tyres do transform car but there is a trade off when damp, they actually coped quite well when cold but dry but when the temp went below freezing i left it parked up.
