Golf PP GTI in Reflex Silver ordered through Drive The Deal you say?  That's exactly what I would do.  Did, in fact.
Five months in to ownership and very happy with the car, the colour, and the deal.
Bubba.
mk7 GTI now sold.  Gone but not forgotten.

My usual sales guy has replied and said thanks but no thanks. Not even any price at all. I think he's in the huff as I've chased him all week and then got an email back without even a phone call. Bit annoyed really so I'll be looking for a new sales guy.

Mcmaddy, I'm in the exact same situation as you at the moment.

I just sold my GTD and wanting a GTI PP now.  Have you heard the facelift is due to be announced next month? and have you noticed the current finance offer ends in about a week and you have to have the car delivered by the end of December to qualify for the contribution.

Personally I'd be slow to order a new MK7 now unless the deal is exceptionally good, with the facelift / MK7.5 very imminent.

Walts - yeah the facelift will be announced soon and the deposit contribution ends on 2nd October. I have seen the bit where it states delivery before 30th December but surely vw should have withdrawn the offer if they can't deliver a new order. It would only apply to cars built in that case and the spec I want isn't built. I'm fairly certain the 2k deposit contribution will be extended like they did on the tiguan for 2 years but you never know.

My spec needs a build to and so I'm gonna wait till October for now and run the risk.
My logic thinks the 2k will be extended, with any luck some more kit might be added and if I order a little later it'll be close to a march delivery and atleast out of winter.

Unless I can get a deal from the sales guy today then I'll do the same. He seemed very keen to do a deal before month end.

My local garage will match car wow which was £500 more than DTD.  Once I'd taken into account travel and time to collect, fuel on the return journey and any other expenses, it's not really all that bad.

Have you huffed Mick, Chris? Maybe he'll try to avoid us both in the future - my R caused him a lot of hassle when it ended up taking an eternity. I tried not to badger him, but anticipation of a car that arrives 4 months later than you expect it to, I probably pestered the life out of him and drove a very hard bargain (he was up and down the stairs to his Manager's office 4 times during the negotiations (never seen that before in the 2 previous cars I bought from him).
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....
