Would it be possible to stretch to a CS?

It's just that the PP could do with that little extra bit of punch, IMO.

I'd add keyless if you haven't included it in the options - then youll have the same car as me - pano is used almost daily, it's a great option

Keyless is now standard on the 5 door but not the 3 for some reason.

Think it gets a few other bits too, new nav which works out slightly cheaper to upgrade to the tech pack, heated seats and a few other little touches.

......

The clubsport at the moment is too expensive given there's no finance incentive and little dealer discount.

Although if I was looking to outright purchase (not PCP or PCH) then facelift all the way, but you won't know what that will be and what extra things it might include for some time though - I'd guess maybe digital clocks, LED lights, different DRL's, couple of different colours and maybe even 7 speed DSG might be on the menu though...
I'm expecting the car to launch next week at the Frankfurt motor show. Though not available to order before January in the UK.

We should see what new options may be available then. Though VW UK will pick and choose the final options for January.

Please correct me if I am wrong. I have never followed a car launch so closely before.

I'm in the same situation. Looking to get a mk 7 gtd, I or R. I can't see the 7 speed dsg box going in the gtd or even the I. Isn't it only in the new S3 and nothing else?
The FL A3 190ps petrol with Stronic is also 7 speed. It should also be the new box for the power and torque.

I don't understand why it is not on the higher powered diesels A3s yet. Though I expect it will be on the higher powered petrol Golfs.

Could they have it on the GTI and not the GTD? Maybe you have a point - both or none?

Do Audi charge more for 7 speed DSG on petrol models than the six speed on Diesels? Or is it a flat DSG charge? I'm too lazy to look! Plus I always get bogged down when looking at Audi specs with all their confusing packs and add on's.

As for the ClubSport, it was always marketed as a limited build (the most obvious hint that there would be a FL Golf due afterwards) meaning it was a bit of a run out model. I reckon VW UK will end up chucking any excess stock from the build run that haven't got firm orders into the dealer network, like they did for run out pre FL up!s with a date that any not sold by will be pre-registered. A similar thing happened with the mk5 Pirelli if I remember correctly.

Thanks for the replies thus far........

Spoke to the dealer and explained my situation, really nice guy and no pressure from him at all to jump on a deal.  Gonna have a long think about things and try a decide how big the risk is loosing the dealer incentive now, compared to what might come out in October.

Oh and how long I can live with a 1.2 corsa

Walts, I'm in a similar situation.
I've been getting deals for an R over the last couple of months and generally I'm quite impatient but for some reason never pulled the trigger.

A few weeks ago the dealer hinted at a facelift so like you I decided to hang fire and see what they bring out.
It could backfire though as the financial deals might be poor or the new facelift might not come with Winter Pack, Keyless or Nav, so to get it to the same spec as the current model might cost a lot more. In fact I doubt they will come with that spec.

Then with being an early adopter, its guaranteed things will be added to it not long after its released. The first few Mk7's didn't have the ACC.

I'm probably too late to order an R now anyway so will just have to face the consequences
Or hope I can get a deal on a run out model that has similar specs.

Order now. If you wait for the facelift, it might be uglier (I think they took the MK5 and hit it with the ugly stick to create MK6). If there's more kit on the facelift, you'll be paying for it in higher list price (A3 facelift is significantly more expensive than prefacelift to pay for that extra equipment it gained.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

As dilemmas go I know it's not a bad one to have, buy my god my head is pounding so feel your pain.

I don't think you'd struggle to order an R would you now? Or is there a cut off for the order books?
