Should I buy a MK7 now or wait??????
« on: 14 September 2016, 09:09 »
Well after a bit of a change in circumstance I sold my Golf GTD MK7 last week within 24hrs of listing it.

Now at the moment I'm restricted to Mrs corsa so I can at least get around but I really need to put an order in for something soon.

Having loved the GTD I'm seriously thinking about another MK7.  Now I do a few less miles I'm looking at a Golf GTI performance pack with the following spec:
5 door
White
DSG
Panoramic roof
Parking pack
Tech pack

The question is do I order now or do people think the deals are gonna get better??

Not sure the same applies to your situation, but I was told there are two good days to buy any technology, tomorrow as it will be cheaper, or yesterday as you will have had the use of it for a day.

With the confirmation of the Q1 2017 facelift this morning I'd say you have three options:

1) Wait, get a facelift model

2) Wait, look to get a pre-facelift from the forecourt last minute and save a fortune

3) Wait, see if nearer the time any incentives come for pre-facelift factory orders come along once the news is more public

Obviously option #2 means that you won't get a choice of spec, but you could get a steal!

Whatever way you decide to go, probably one of the nicer dilemmas to have!

If it were me, I think I'd buy something very cheap to run around in (if needed) and see what comes about. So probably point 3 above followed by point 1 if the deals didn't persuade me.
2019 Oryx White 5dr TCR.

Was - 2015 Tornado Red 3dr GTI PP, manual, Santiagos, Audi short shifter.

Sensing you think I should wait

My only dilemma is with the facelift I think the dealer incentives will go, so could risk £2000 with the current finance offer.

The local dealer to me will match the carwow offer I've got and that's only £500 apart from drive the deal.  The dealer is only 10 miles to travel which then save trains/ fuel and food so probably only gonna save a few hundred pound with DTD.

And they've said if a better finance package comes out in October they will arrange it for me to move onto that............

I know it's not a bad dilemma to have but as they go this ones doing my head in  :undecided:

Oh I forgot, option 4.... f*** it, order it now, get a new GTI and drive around going zoooooooooom about 3 months sooner :)

If it was me though, I'd be going for one of the others despite #4 screaming at me to drop the coin!

Although if I was looking to outright purchase (not PCP or PCH) then facelift all the way, but you won't know what that will be and what extra things it might include for some time though - I'd guess maybe digital clocks, LED lights, different DRL's, couple of different colours and maybe even 7 speed DSG might be on the menu though...

I'm in the same situation. Looking to get a mk 7 gtd, I or R. I can't see the 7 speed dsg box going in the gtd or even the I. Isn't it only in the new S3 and nothing else?

Assume all clubsport models will be pore facelift then ?

Given they haven't sold as quickly as thought, surely they will throw some incentives that way soon
