Rear Brake disc outer corrosion
« on: 16 August 2016, 20:04 »
Has anyone else experienced corrosion on the rear brake discs? The Corrosion extends approximately 1-2 inches down from the top of the disc. I have the original pads and discs on the car, pads about 50% worn, discs look fine apart from outer corrosion. Car has done 50k, 5 years old. Looks like the pad is not evenly making contact with disc, it's the same on both. I will probably just change the pads and see if it clear up but it looks unusual.

It sounds like the piston is not pushing the pad out at right angle, you could just remove pads and clean and re-lube the caliper pins and see if that fixes the issue, but if its been like that for a while then the pads will more than likely not be straight
