Thanks one and all for your inputs, it has been very reassuring since I've been reluctant to have the screen changed but I'm definitely feeling better about it now

Oh dear. Sorry to burst the bubble, but Autoglass are total jokers. £350-400 quids worth of trim replaced, a genuine Audi screen in the end (the Pilkington branded ones they brought were so so bad the offered a genuine item), 4 repair attempts and a refund of my excess in recognition of being well and truly sh!te. Can't bring myself to type the whole thing out but it was so ridiculous as to be funny if they hadn't made a mess of my car.

Your mileage may vary.

Week before last I was driving clockwise on M25 when a DB9 went passed at over 100 mph and this large stone hit windscreen leaving what looked like a bullet mark. The next morning a crack had appeared from one side to the other and had also gone to top. Contacted Autoglass who came within 2 days and guy was very professional and replaced screen in about 90 mins. very good job....nice to have a new screen without all the little chips I had incurred over 2 years.

I had a good experience with Autoglass also, but I was watching over the guy the whole time (maybe that helps).
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

They managed to repair my windscreen afterall, really pleased. They got here early, did an excellent job and I get £65 back! Might spend it on a few extra detailing goodies
