Anyone had any luck explaining this away to Churchill Insurance?

Is that a yes you have got the OK from them? Did it cost you extra? How did you explain it as they have said they won't cover it to me?

When I first spoke to Sainsbury's they said it was performance enhancing at first and would affect my insurance. I think they were confusing it with a tuning box. I explained that it does not increase power and just makes the pedal more sensitive so that pressing it 25% is like 50%. The guy went away and spoke to a colleague I think and came back and said it was fine. I asked if it needed adding to my policy and they said no as it did not increase performance.

I would still make sure that it is noted on your insurance file just for peace of mind.

The difference these things make is quite remarkable.
I would imagine they would work even better on a DSG car, as most people's clutch control (mine included) isn't perfect.

Spoke to someone more helpful at Churchill and they got it OKed by the underwriter so it is now on my insurance notes.
Would be rude not to order one with pay day coming next Friday

Got one lying about for £50 plus postage for a gtd. Grey clip missing has no bearing on the pedal box. Removed from the car as i've just taken delivery of a Audi S1...i'm a child or a hairdresser i don't know which one!

Cheers golfhappy, £50 is very tempting, I've got to retire now as have to be in work tomorrow before 6am so I'll give it some thought.

Anyone got any observations regarding use of the box and traction in the GTI at this time of year? Surely it makes the traction control go mad off the lights as effectively you are putting your foot down harder?
