I wish everyone would just stop banging on about pedal boxes!!
I'm completely potless at the moment so can't buy one and you lot keep going on about them.
Highly frustrating😀

Odds will definitely not be in my favour.
I really need/want one of these but need money for other more important ( apparently) things.
My birthdays coming up in September so I should resist until then but we all know that's not going to happen😀

Can these boxes be used on any Golf?
ie you don't need a specific box for a specific model?

Stevie, pretty sure it's the same pedal box for any Mk7 Golf.  Just tried doing a few searches on the DTUK site putting in varying models of Mk7 Golf and it brings up the same pedal box for all.  Max response one.

Thanks Bec. Yeah I tried the same and it looks like the same box.
I might invest in one then as I can also try it out on the GTI and take it with me if I scratch that itch

You want to do something about that itch Stevie.

If you get one (pedal box) don't forget to pay Mr Ex his commission.

This thread proved too much temptation for me so I've bought and installed a pedal box too.
Fitting took literally ten minutes but Booth11's "how to" post was massively helpful, thank you Rebecca; it's what forums like this should be about.  The hardest part was contorting my (middle aged bloke) body to get at the connectors.  Also I'd recommend sorting some extra lighting (a portable lamp I suppose) in the footwell so you can see what you're doing more easily.
I've set it to "Sport" with 2 green lights and would describe the effect (on my GTI PP) as follows: it actually makes the car a hot hatch!  It really livens up acceleration but without changing the refined nature of the car.  A bit like adding a few chilli flakes to a mild curry, if you like.
I imagine things vary with your driving style; if you are habitually heavy footed then you might not notice much change, but I'd thoroughly recommend this gadget if, like me, you're usually gentle with the accelerator.  For £156 delivered, it's a no brainer.
Over the next few days I'll have a play with the various settings.  Does anyone have any views about City vs. Sport vs. Sport Plus?

Bubba.
Hi bubba, mine is the pp and I would suggest you try sport + and two lights it's amazing, I switched it to sport and two lights my last drive and had that been my original choice I would have been happy but once you try the sport + and two lights it's hard to compromise.

Cheers buddfridge; yes I'll try this over the next few days.
I suppose, since this box merely amplifies the accelerator, that it's not possible to damage the car in any way - it sort of replaces a heavy right foot, no?  So any setting is fine, I'm thinking?

Bubba.

As Booth pointed out there is a warning that it could cause a problem but I am running sport + and two and its great, I think the warning is just as a precaution. My mate is running on sport + and three with a dtuk box on a vrs and its been no trouble at all, you should be fine just use as you normally would ie let the oil get up to temp.

Let me know what you make of sport+ two, by the way I havnt tried sport + three as in sport+ two it is very quick and responsive.
