Spent 2 hours in VW on Saturday while we 'went through my account' which lead to basically pricing up a clubsport. I got the sense they were trying to get rid of them before the 'facelift' comes out. I really wanted the LCD screen which these dont have but i still asked to see what the price was.

Anyway long story short, forget it lol, £490p/m with a £7.5k deposit. I can get an RS3 for much less than that a month, its just not worth it, so my minds made up, when the facelift order books open, RS3 it is :)

What sort of figures are RS3s coming in at per month?
‘25 8.5R, ‘23 8R, ‘20 8CS, ‘19 135iX, ‘19 TCR, ‘17 Ed40, ‘17 GTD, ‘15 7R, ‘13 GTI PP, ‘11 GTI, ‘09 GTI, ‘98 Ibiza Cupra, ‘05 GTI, ‘06 Polo GTI, ‘04 GT TDI, ‘05 Fabia vRS, ‘02 GTI T, ‘03 Ibiza TDI 130, ‘01 Leon 180, ‘89 mk2 16v, ‘99 Ibiza TDI, ‘96 VR6, ‘98 Ibiza TDI, ‘92 VR6, ‘88 mk2 8v, ‘92 Polo G40, ‘91 mk2 8v, ‘89 mk2 8v, 205 GTI 1.9, ‘83 mk1 GTI, ‘80 Scirocco GTI, plus some others I’ve forgotten

oh yeah and the £490 was over 48 months! not my usual 42, so its even less in comparison.

So thats £50 more a month for a car with lets face it 90% of the time, 135bhp less... (new one should be 400bhp if it matches TTRS and even if not it will only be ecu change not hardware so remap the same)

What a weird situation!
I certainly know which one I'd prefer!

Something bright for me, the free colour in the pre facelift was grey and it's the only one I see. So orange or yello would be cool :)

I know it's not one that many considered but has anyone had any experience with the Touareg R line (262bhp).

Saw a personal lease deal for 250 (inc).

A bit of a monster and not a bad price too.
Definitely the sort of thing you'd probably only ever consider getting if it was on a lease and I'd certainly consider one at that price if I was in the market for a new vehicle.

Precisely my point, my only issue is delivery. My current PCP doesn't end until sept and the 250 is per month doesn't include upfront payment. I will need to check but in real money I think it equates to 350pcm.

Got my figures from Carwow.

Appears that they have valued my golf (currently) at 15205 with an outstanding finance of approx 16500. Putting me in -ve equity.

With all discounts and contributions added to the deal with a 3.5k deposit my monthlies over 48 months work out to 407pcm.

Spec is as listed in one of my previous comments.

In real terms is this a good deal considering it has to be a factory order and if I wait until sept I will have paid off another grand but the pEx price would have dropped by the same amount.

The monthlies are affordable and in comparison over the course of 3 years In real money I would end up paying 30 pounds more a month then I am now. Even though the indicative monthlies are 80 quid more a month given I am paying a lesser deposit here.

Back on topic.

I do love Capris which are nearly as cool as Mercedes saloons thinly disguised as Sports Coupes.

I'm surprised there are any Capris left now as they were pretty rusty a few years down the line from new never mind 20 or 30 or 40 years even further down the line.
I had a couple friends with V6 Capris and loved the noise they made and the fact you could wheel-spin them at will at any time. Well i was young at the time so simple things like that impressed me!
Ok, I'll admit it, they still do impress me.

My first car was a mk1 Scirocco and I wonder what they're worth now if there are any left. They shared a Capri and Alfa trait in that they turned all brown and holey after a few years.

I got chatting to one of the dads at my sons football and he has a Capri tucked away in his 'humidity controlled' garage that has only done 6.5k. His owned it from new. That I need to see.
