Got a very soft spot for the RS3100 but the prices are just too high for me now.

How much do these bullet capri fetch now appox Watts? I ask because (long story short) an old mate of mine had one when we were young un's and he went into meltdown and wrote it off. It was an absolute minter as well.

A good RS will be around £40k now. When I had my mk1 3.0 GT and needed parts I went to the Ford dealer in Strawberry Hill, Twickenham. They had front wings for RSs, should have bought them all as you could name your price for them now...

What a machine. Pity any time you put your foot down going round a corner the whole back end would go.

I had an Opel Manta 400 years ago with the same effect on bends. It was so much fun, loved it.

I really like it, I also really like the screen... Not sure what that says about me but I bet this is one hell of a car in C63'S' AMG guise.

Yeah the C63 AMG coupe I can only imagine would be awesome. One of my neighbours has a C63 AMG saloon and the noise that thing makes is insane  . I would love one and you can pick a slightly older one up for reasonable money but the mpg is the killer. No way I could justify the running costs

Mercedes are making some really nice cars now. We nearly bought a CLS but in the end we bought an A7 last Tuesday.

The screen on the Mercedes looks so dated with the huge bezel.

After the usual dilemmas and procrastination that comes with looking at next vehicle the order button has been pressed and its over and onto the forget about it completely and wait period.

Did consider the Tiguan but decided the SUV is maybe for another time as think was forcing myself to like it as was all new and shiney  Edit:Will add that seeing larger cars go around the car parks that mainly use time and time again looking for perfect space did play a part, even the Golf can be tight at times when everyone is not perfectly aligned, so another reason why Golf is perfect in the real world day to day experiences.

Did look at A3 Sportback Quattro but the vanilla 1.8 was coming in on par with what finally selected in cost and it was only the 2.0 TDi Quattro that allowed any decent options - was not really sold anyway, but decision to pass was made easier for me

GTD was tempting again as its such a great car and it gives me money back (on company lease) and is economical but the lure of additional grip and performance was too much

GTI made the decision harder as a PP in CSG looks so good and gives me that performance lift but having owned Quattro the 4WD from pull away is what miss most so passed.

So, with BMW and Mercedes already excluded, this is what have ordered.

Golf R
Lapis Blue (As much as like black, am not Rebecca in how keeps so immaculate, so settled for signature colour)
5 Door (Must Have)
DSG (Must Have, fully converted to its virtues)
DCC (Have it now and with Prets was seen as must have)
Pretoria (probably not must have, but like them so much more than Cadiz that it became that way)
App Connect (Must have, as Apple family here, and with not optioning Sat Nav this time around its the go to)
Keyless (Swayed by the many here who love it, so giving a go, not must have but want to see for myself)
Rear Camera (Cope quite well on sensors but seen many a mention of helps line up on spaces, so as above, cheap option so trying myself)

So that it, glad to put that to bed and will just forget about now and enjoy the GTD till swap over.

Is it me or does that remind me of a Renault from the back?
Sort of cross between a Laguna and a Scirocco R line.
I quite like it though.

I actually think the screen is quite a good idea as you get quite a handsome dash design and then a screen which is in a much more useful place than the Golf's which is tucked down out of the way too far. I gave up using the rear camera on my GTI as it involved me trying to look out the back window, then scan across to the mirrors then down to the screen and rinse and repeat as necessary. To any onlookers it probably looked like i was having a funny turn every time I went backwards. James Bond never looks that uncool when he reverses. 

I wouldn't buy one though. I've never quite got around the idea of having a car as long as a canal barge yet it only has two doors. If you're going to buy a sports car and only need two doors then why not buy a proper sports car? If you want something the size of the Ark Royal then you may as well have proper access to the back seats as you'll obviously need to use the back seats or you'd not bother buying something that size. Or am I just out of touch as usual?

I do love Capris which are nearly as cool as Mercedes saloons thinly disguised as Sports Coupes.

I'm surprised there are any Capris left now as they were pretty rusty a few years down the line from new never mind 20 or 30 or 40 years even further down the line.
I had a couple friends with V6 Capris and loved the noise they made and the fact you could wheel-spin them at will at any time. Well i was young at the time so simple things like that impressed me!
Ok, I'll admit it, they still do impress me.

My first car was a mk1 Scirocco and I wonder what they're worth now if there are any left. They shared a Capri and Alfa trait in that they turned all brown and holey after a few years.
