I will take the dealer demo out where i have ordered but in no rush

Glad I jumped when i did before the reviews, ironically a friend was talking to chap at Pistonheads Sunday Service in a black manual who did not like it and preferred his PP GTI, he has a blue DCT one coming in a few weeks, i hope he likes turquoise

@JBirchy and drisser: Yes! That's the one, a 4 series coupe. I went on Coast2coast's website and specced one up and even with discount it was heading near to £40k which for what you get ain't bad when you consider a GTI Clubsport or an R can easily get near those figures but still out of my budget by a fair amount.
Those 3.0 BMW turbodiesels have always appealed to me and the coupe styling does it for me but possibly not at £40k.
A lightly used second hand one though... ?

Hi Andy,

Hope you and you family are well buddy and are enjoying your Golf R.

TRL over on the babybmw forum has a cracking deal on the 435d m sport x drive.

I would imagine a same spec 430d you might be able to get at £32k to 33k.

I would absolutely love one of those M2's but it would be out my price range. The car pictured above is spot on.

I'm still really enjoying the M135i though but it's a hard car to love from the outside.

So thinking of maybe going for an M235i (soon to be M240i) next.

Hi Martin,

Great to see you still check in!
Family and R all good thanks.
Funnily enough I was doing a forum search for something the other day as I needed an old photo and I got completely sidetracked when I found a load of our old posts from a few years ago which brought a smile to my face. I lost well over an hour going back over some old threads. All good fun!

I seriously have no idea what I'll end up replacing the R with in a few years even assuming I do? It does pretty much everything you could ask of a car (and has a few additions that help it along the way) so it's possible I'd keep it a long time if it stays reliable and maybe supplement it with a small fun car or two, most likely older cars that aren't overly reliant on emissions electronics or a cheap lease deal for something completely random!

But who knows?
Mk8 GTD? MQB Scirocco? Smaller BMW? Mini JCW or tuned Cooper SD?

Thanks for the link, some seriously good deals seem to come from that dealer. I was equally impressed with the GFV on the car quoted: £20k less than list price! Scary stuff and I'd hope to have a good bit of equity in there!
Good to hear you're still very happy with your BMWs.
Hope your family are all well too

Just ordered a Mk.7 'Match Edition' !  After the financial disaster on the GTD this one should be a safer bet....
