Exonian I know  always liked the idea of owning a suv. Won't hapoen though. I live in the wilderness that is inner city Birmingham & I would find it hard to justify.

I'm not a fan of the r estate it's just wrong Imo.

The s3 saloon is nice but will need a good level of kit to match the current gtd Which would inevitably take the cost to buy up plus orders are on hold.

I did see an rs3 offer the other day on vehicle savers yesterday!

Anyone been in the hybrid 3 series?

The motor that I would love but with young family makes it prohibitive Is an m3 saloon.

Do not have little ones anymore but still carry passengers a high % of the time and having been stubborn and stayed to 3 door previously the relent to selecting 5 door and hassle it removes means that for now at least 5 door is a must and that does really narrow the cars you could choose with some great cars dismissed immediately.

The R is still top of my list but the new face lift A3 S Line 187bhp Quattro (STronic) will now get a look

Had dismissed the A3 but that was with no knowledge of the face lift which from first impressions really like, its just a little sharper, so it will really depend on the the bolt on options? especially the virtual cockpit

Yep. I have a 3yo in a car seat and one on the way so family days out (most weekends) and nursery runs will consist of 2 car seats. I can't have the headache of squeezing a baby seat through a 3 door. Did it previously Don't fancy it again.

If my Mrs passes her test then I can give her a 5 door and go back to 3 doors

Then that's what you need to do - get her passed asap!!

I have the same problem, currently got a 3dr GTI PP and not having 5dr is killing my back (literally).
Just put in a order for a 5dr Golf R DSG :)
Also encouraging the missus to learn to drive albeit in a automatic as she tried manual lessons in the past.
The will probably get a VW Tiguan 5dr DSG too.
