that looks great against the white.

Just ordered some wheels myself, but without any drop I think it will look "ok" at best, but saving 3.5 kilo's per wheel so hope its worth it.
What wheels have you gone for Jackie ?

Don't get me wrong, it'll look great with the wheels alone - I'm just a sucker for a lowered car!!

I hope you wasn't thinking I was saying yours would look "ok" at best, i mean mine will look ok at best as its not lowered, lowering a car to sit correctly on the wheels, like yours, is perfect, the sharp edge of your alloys suit the mk7 imo

Fondmetal 9RR in black, they are the lightest I could find without spending silly money.  (Revised to 3kg per wheel) I was being optimistic

Haha, not at all - They look good with just alloys as they are a little lowered out of the factory. I just like to go that bit lower than even that lol.

I have 18" at the mo and I have gone for the smaller/lighter 18" over the standard cosmetic 19" and will be fitting some Michelin PS4 to them when they arrive.  It will look a little odd (18" in black) but hoping it will feel and handle better. I was intending on keeping them for track days, but will make them my daily wheels and keep the 4mm Bridgestones for the last blast at a track day later in the year, then will fit winters to the Austins for some winter holidays in Europe.  That's the plan anyway..

I have to say, the more I look at then wheels you've ordered Jackie, the more I'm liking them. Food for thought although I love my Austin alloys. Really suit the GTI imo.

They will lower slightly less than mine did.

I got these...

http://www.larkspeed.com/index.pl?a=i&p=EE21854123

According to the Larkspeed website there is only approximately 5mm difference in lowering between the 2, although from my experience with my old Astra VXR, there is quite a significant difference in lowering. Would like to see a car on the Pro kit to compare though.
