I have always purchased my cars outright (combination of payment & loan) but I must admit for the first time I'm slowly coming round to the possibility of leasing. There are some fantastic deals out there if you do your homework and the idea of being able to jump into a different brand new car every two years is very appealing to me.
I think a good few of us on here and on other forums too no doubt are pretty much in the same mindset.
To me, if the R loses so much value that there's no point part ex'ing it at a couple/few years old then I'd just keep it and initially run a cheap up! or C1 or something for commuting/supermarket/dump trips as a £60 per month leaser until the R is old enough to be sold privately, with low mileage, then get something a bit dearer on a lease depending on what was on offer at the time.
Obviously leases are only good value if the car you're leasing has the spec you want straight out of the factory and you don't have to wait ages between one lease being collected and another arriving on the back of a trailer. However private leasing is gradually becoming popular but business leases have been popular for years and years and they seem to manage ok seamlessly between contracts so you just have to be organised and sharp eyed. I'm sure there are flexibilities built in.
Hi all
Seen on a few posts about red badging on the gti seems in the early days of the mk7 some came with red gti others silver pp or non pp however now vw only doing red gti badging on the PP for the uk unless you want it on non pp either buy and fit yourself r ask your dealer to have fitted prior to collecting the car...

All the early GTI's had silver badges. After about 12 months they changed it to red for the PP. The red badges are easy enough to get hold of if you want one on a non PP GTI.
