screw

Not a Friday night offer.....
Brand new gti has a metal screw, the wrong way round, stuck in Tyre-the sharp, screwy bit is hanging out if that makes sense! Is it repairable? Looking like I might be stuck with Kwik fit

It will all depend on where abouts in the tyre it is.

Where ever you go make sure the fitter does not shag your wheel with his iron bars and ham fists.

I always find independent tyre places look after your wheels better than the likes of kwik fit.

Kwik fit are paying BMW to repair 2 of my 5 series alloys after their mobile fitter shagged them! Lease car and had to use them.

How deep is it in? Actually loosing air? Once had a bit of metal stuck in my rear tyre.... tyre place took it out and blew up to 5 bar to test and off they sent me again (lease company did not give authorisation to replace since it still had 7.5mm tread).

I would personally not repair tyres, don't want to find out how a blow out feels (again). Had a rear tyre explode on me once on a hire car at 80 mph, not the most pleasant thing you can experience.

If it is towards the edge 1/4 of the tyre then it shouldn't be repaired at all. In fairness I wouldn't repair any puncture no matter where it is in the tyre. The last puncture I got was just after I got my new rubber on. Less than 200 miles on on my set of Cup 2's

If a puncture is repaired properly you won't have any issues at all.

Really weird. Somehow the head of the screw is in the tyre. Booked tyres on your drive for Sunday but have got vw assistance having a look tomorrow just in case it can be fixed easily. Gutted as skint this month.
