Clutch not returning

I didn't use an alognment tool, just managed to get it right by luck I guess haha.

I'm just going to do them all again (full linkage). It's an easy job, overkill maybe, but I'm not bothered

Got the car back today and it drives fine. Bite point is much lower obviously, which is nice.

What was wrong with the clutch then?

Neither me, nor the garage know what was wrong.

It was like the rod was too short (didn't look badly worn), so they added a spacer (half an old release bearing) to effectively extend it. Like I say, it doesn't sit well with me, but it seems to drive well, other than sloppy gear linkages.

the small clutch levers that go against the release bearing have a habit of cracking which makes the pedal not return. but in saying that,when they crack they don't normally work again even with a spacer fitted. I know someone who had the same issue a couple of years back. to fix it they took out the push rod, cut it in half and put a small ball bearing in between the 2 halfs
