Every car theft I have read about (and there's been quite a few) has been the case where they broke into the house for the keys.  If they have a will to nick your car and can take it without breaking in and traumatising the family, good!

Here's just one of many links discussing thefts of cars with keyless entry... http://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/three-keyless-thefts-of-luxury-cars-each-day-in-hampstead-a2944436.html

@monkeyheanger I've seen a few folk saying keyless is less safe than having a key but nobody has backed this up with evidence. You got any references as I'd be interested to read them.

Have a look at this, and pay particular attention to MK7 GTD and Audi A3 mentions....

It doesn't state specifically getting away with your car, but by unlocking it they could do a lot of damage to the interior even if they didn't fancy stealing anything from inside the car...

That actually puts my mind at rest a little. If it means they don't have to break into my house and put both myself and my wife in danger they are welcome to the cars.

Exactly, if someone wants to steal my car then I'd rather it was taken by some keyless scan machine rather than breaking into my house for the keys.
