Blimey

I'm sure you guys have seen this?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-birmingham-35787606

With cars getting harder and harder to pinch, this is what they're resorting to. I see a few neighbours of mine, on a cold frosty morning, start their car and then go back in the house while it warms up. I don't risk it as you never know who is watching nowadays.

Makes you think, what would you do in this situation?

Most of the Rs getting pinched on the other forum are being pinched between Birmingham and Coventry. The big fella seemed to put up a good fight initially like that metal bar was made of rubber - did he fall over just off screen?
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

That is a pretty shocking piece of film. What chance have you got with them going on a full out assault at 10.30 in the morning?.Looking at their tactics they are obviously well versed in car theft tactics and violence.
No doubt if someone had stood in the way of the car or jumped on the bonnet they would have ran them over, without a second thought.
I would have just gave them the keys.

It's terrible the way people will literally do anything to take things from people, as has been said them 2 thugs seem well versed in how they operate.

If I found myself in that position it's hard to say how you'd react but I think I'd try and throw the keys onto the roof of the house and hope they get stuck in the gutter, if it was inside the house I'd rather handover the keys to get them out as quick as possible

Horrible, isn't it?
I've read a few posts on here where they've broken in to have the keys away, and watching this it seems that these criminals will stop at nothing if they decide to take someones pride and joy.
I can see how some people would think twice before owning a desirable car, due to the attention it may receive.
Scumbags, plain and simple.

That's awful and there's a lot of language I'd like to use to describe this scum!!!!!

How would I react, similar to that guy but when there's two against one and an intent to use a weapon you'd have to think - it's insured!

That's shocking. I could actually feel my anxiety going while watching this.
Its hard to say what you would do in that situation. I think my first instinct would be to confront them as my cars have always been my pride and joy whereas probably the safest outcome would be to hand over the keys.

I wouldn't have a problem lumping one of them but it would be the repercussions as they know where you stay and I'm sure they would be back.

Similarly if you just handed over the keys they might just come back as they know you are a soft touch!!

I was just thinking that, if this were to happen to me, in the rush and panic of nicking my car I doubt that the thieves would worry about putting on the seat belt, so would they know how to release the electronic hand brake? There would be a brief period of standing around, bemused as I watched someone trying to pinch my motor!

Can you not just drive away without disengaging the parking brake? I never disengage mine, it does it automatically when I pull away.
