Karlak: I would ask them why they wouldn't accomodate and then tell them they've lost a customer over the issue. I wouldn't waste my time or money on them again (except for future car purchase if they're cheaper than anyone else).

All replaced and sorted today under warranty :)

VW Customer services are on the case as to why warranty wasn't an option with the first Dealer.
