GTi - Service nightmare - advice
« on: 06 February 2016, 08:59 »
Hi All,

I took my GTI in for a service last year at VW dealership. I have the 4 year service plan.

When I arrived the next morning to pick up my car I walked by it in the car park and the window was wide open and the rain pouring in. The service book was also lost or stolen from the car.

I obviously took this up with the individual on site and then the service manager. He offered to valet the car and sort out one another problem on it as compensation and replace the service book.

I subsequently took the car in and got this done - but - they are now refusing to replace the service book with a like for like copy. They tried to fob me off with a pathetic 5 sheet A5 version. This is not acceptable in my mind.

I'm now planning on taking this higher up the VW chain. Would anyone have any advice for me doing this?

Grateful for your thoughts.

Appalling service!
I would never take my car there again and I'm sure you won't be. Hope it gets sorted to your full satisfaction.

I really don't understand VW.

On the basis of this, they have clearly "under performed".

Why don't they just do the right thing, why is every single issue a fight, as if they are doing you a favour, just to get them to do what you would expect from a service or warranty.

Nightmare and poor service from the dealer... must admit any dealer with the name "Lookers" are pretty crap in my experience, wouldn't go near them with a barge pole regardless of car make
