Thanks for that link too, my driver's door has always been creaky so will try the recommended seal lubricant.

Thanks for the comments guys. It was the interior is one of the main things that drew me to the car in the first place. The exterior has grown on me.

It's not until you are sitting in the car, you appreciate all of the touches VW have made. I agree it is a special place. People who sit in the car just say 'it's a nice place to be'. I am sure there are something I am not yet aware of.

The only disappointment is I miss the strip lighting on the door and the footwell lighting but this is a minor point.

I am biased with a silver 3dr R but that looks stunning and would have been my spec choice. I went into VW in April to order a CS but the deals weren't there hence ending up with an R.
