Am I reading that price list correctly?  £33k for a 5 door DSG Clubsport before options?  Please tell me people aren't paying those prices?!

Ed30, Pirelli and Ed35 were all available through brokers, I am sure the CS will be and personally I think they may struggle shifting 1,000 units (great if you buy one

Always the initial rush to have the new shiny thing (did it on my R) and then the deals start to appear.

I have just read the description next to the bucket seats on the price list.  It states seats are in lieu of Pre-Crash prevention, is this the radar system on the front of the car.  Please read below:

‘Clubsport’ cloth seat centre section and Alcantara side bolsters including
heated front sports bucket seats with embroidered ‘GTI’ logo. In lieu of
PreCrash preventive occupant protection and front centre armrest

So to have the bucket seats you lose the centre arm rest console and the PreCrash preventive protection (Radar?) It seems they have bodged the seats to fit as an after thought rather design the layout so they fit properly. However I have seen photos of the same seats in a R400 concept with the centre console remaining intact between the seats.  Also does anyone know if you lose the red strip lights in the doors as well if the bucket seats are specified?

On perusing the price list.  This would be an expensive car if I were to configure it with the same spec as my current GTi + extras I expected to be standard for the clubsport.

Correct, Buckets = No arm rest, no rear air vents, no roller blind cover over centre console, no ambient lighting overhead leds, door top strips and door sills, and no crash prevention system.  :undecided:

Wth the same options I have currently specced on my GTI PP +Bucket Seats, + DCC I would pay around £37922.  However I would get the extended warranty this time as well so you can lump another £500+ on top taking it to near £38.5K.

Out of curiosity I looked in to the top spec I would go for including the Pretoria with semi slick tyres it hit just shy of £40K at £39807 without the 5 year warranty.  This is crazy money for a GTI.  I have specced a Golf R with virtually all options for less than this.

With this in mind, should the Golf R400 ever be released we could be looking at a Golf worth nearly £50K.

So alot less car for more £££.

On second thoughts defo going to re-think this. Not worth paying this much for what you are getting in MY opinion. I like VWs always have done but do I like em this much.

PreCrash preventive occupant protection

Could this be seat belt pre tensioners? As the buckets seats have different fixings? And not the city brake or radar intervention that's removed?
