I agree with that sentiment...I have such a facility up at my country residence, but for school reasons, we have to use our city apartment at this time of the year and the car lives outside.

The one great thing about a heated garage is not needing heated seats or windscreen. Drive in and let the windows down and get into a toasting hot car in the morning.

That's all right until its parked up somewhere.
There is nothing better than coming back from the football on an icy Saturday afternoon, jumping in the car and sticking the heated seats on.

Are you guys just trying to make me jealous?...I don't have heated seats either! I go down, start the car, activate the climate control, walk around outside with a cloth and water, smoke a fag, check tires and clean all light lenses.
15 mins later, Missy comes down, ready to go to school and off we go...temp gauge is still at the lowest point at this stage, so speeds are usually walking pace for the first mile or so. In warm weather the whole exercise, from leaving the front door to arriving back home again, takes about 18 minutes............at this time, in these conditions...rarely less than an hour!!

Very true although I thankfully I never got the football bug. One of our old cars had a night heater and that was really handy. Even parked outside in the heavy frost in the morning when we would go out to it and every other car would be frozen and our Discovery would be frost free with a pool of water around it. Unfortunately it didn't make up for the boat like driving experience.

I can't remember the last time we didn't have heated seats and for the times when they are needed I wouldn't be without them.

I've never had heated seats so when I pick my Gti up Saturday I'll be trying them straight away! That's one thing my Leon never had even tho it supposedly had the "winter pack" leather seats it was as well

I envy you guys as I've never been in a car with heated seats...or ever seen one that did have them.

Until about 3 years ago i didn't see the point of heated seats, i changed my car which came with them and have been a convert ever since. My current Mk7 doesn't have them, however the one i have on order does and I'm giddy with excitement!!

What I find disappointing with the current heated seat arrangement is the bolsters don't get heated.
It sounds trivial but coming from a car where the bolsters were heated as well, when you use the Golf, the side of your hips stays cold whereas your bum gets hot. Its a weird feeling and took me months to get used to.

Would you not consider fitting a webasto auxiliary heater? Surely it would make sense in your climate?
