You're right...it would make sense. A mate had one in his VW Transporter and it worked well...stunk to high heaven, but it kept him warm.

Don't quite know where it would fit under the bonnet tho'.

I am glad i specced it with my GTD.It makes more sense to have it on a slow warming up diesel.Only used it a few times this Winter but it is worth every penny.Stops misting up too.

I thought the GTD had a system that allows the cars heater to work much quicker? As for it stopping the screen misting up, isn't that what climate control is for. Hence the reason you are supposed to leave it on in winter.

It has an auxillary heater that allows you to warm the cabin quicker (for comfort), but it won't help warm the engine oil any quicker, and that GTD will be thirsty (relative, for a diesel) until the engine is warm.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Am I mistaken, I thought we were talking about the advantages of the heated screen which is why I commented that the GTD has the system that allows the heater to work quicker as the person I quoted didn't seem to know it had.

I recently helped a friend retrofit the full oem webasto to his 2014 caddy. There's a faint smell from it outside but nothing inside. He can press the button on the remote from his bedroom and 15 minutes later the car is defrosted, warm inside and the engine is up to about 70 degrees C.
