The flat part of the boot is an absolute magnet for dust and sh!te.

Mine's been in the garage mostly but still looks filthy on the flat part.

It's clever aerodynamics. Turbulent air will suck crap up off the road and stick it to the car regardless, but note how the dirt tends to be attracted to the center of the tailgate, therefore keeping the outer road lights cleanish.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Golf rears are dirt magnets!

It's always been the same. This is my previous Mk2 after a couple of days. Note the 'tide' line on the corner of the rear bumper.

Nice to know they are carrying on the tradition of the dirty boot lid and bumper shelf through the model evolution.  My Mk5's and 6 were just as bad.

Mine is shocking at the minute. Given I'm a hobby detailer it's particularly bad!

Pic's don't do it justice, it's actually brown! At least I'm safe in the knowledge that it's well protected with SiRamik Glass Coat (paint and wheels) under there so a simple foam, 2 bucket wash and dry and it will be spik and span again (all being well it will be done on Sat).

It's amusing to see what you lot consider to be dirty. You should see my Passat at the moment. I'd take a photo if I could find it, it's so camouflaged out here in the sticks.

Seek that Passat out and photo it.

My R's too new to have had the chance to get really dirty and OCD simply won't allow me to let it get that bad.  The worst my Mk6 got was when we had the Saharan rain earlier this year.  Cheating I know, but if we're allowing Mk2's and Passats on here then here's the Mk6 at it's filthiest! - this thread needs some dirt:

If I have time before I have to wash it tomorrow. We are going away for the weekend. First time on our own in about 7 years. I'm not sure I'll know what to do.

Do what my other half and I end up doing on rare child free occassions - argue.  The pressure to enjoy ourselves in those few precious hours is too much

It'll all come back to you, once the kids are a dot in the rear view mirror.

Forget the car, enjoy your child free weekend Simon (and mrs dubber)

Mine is so filthy at the minute (live well in the country) that I'd be embarrassed to post a picture. Really need to sort it out at the weekend.
