Can't do that just yet as I've sold my A3 and don't get my GTI until March.
I could post a pic of my disgustingly filthy Transit van but I don't think that would be appreciated on here
You're absolutely right though, trying to maintain a clean car in this country is nigh on impossible unless you are a complete OCD nerd  :nerd:

LOL, you're conveniently off the hook then.

March is a good time to get a new car, most of the worst of the winter out of the way, and just in time for a spring detail.

Bec, that's clean for round here. It's let down by the finger prints on the tailgate tho'. For that reason I'd have to wash it and start layering the filth all over again.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Haha, Simon I shall come and live near you then, in the comfort it will look cleaner than most.

Don't mention the fingerprints!  Needless to say they are NOT mine, and there is no excuse as the family have been trained in the approved method of closing the boot lid using the inner door pull.  I know who is responsible.  He shall remain nameless. I was tempted yesterday to smudge some dirt over the handmarks to hide them.  But I've decided to keep them as a badge of shame (plus don't want to risk rubbing grit into the paintwork, which is still buried somewhere beneath the filth), lol.

If the dirty car wasn't bad enough, when I got out at work this morning, there was chewing gum stuck to my boot sole and gum is now welded to the car floormat.  At least it's my winter mats but still!

That should come off with steam. Holding it over the kettle and scraping away at it when it's softened should shift it.
