I think that was accidental mr  Ex.
No way Rebecca would have used that rear wiper intentionally

Mines in a right mess too. Nearly 1700 miles since it's last wash. I was going to do it today but it's pouring down so it will probably have to wait another week.

Under the dirt is a lot of protection so I'm not worried about it but it would be nice to have a shiny car again!

There could be an awful lot of hail Mary's coming from that direction today!

That's the secret really, protect the paint and then try not to disturb the dirt that lands on there so it doesn't scratch or wear away the coating until you can give it a proper bath.
It is depressing looking at a dirty car but at this time of year it's a losing battle.

A bit of winter filth gives the car a mean and business like look - or so i've been trying to convince myself all these years

I can't believe you actually used your rear wiper.

I'm not sure which sends my nerves into spasms the most - the blade scraping grit across the screen or the horrid stripes of filth that run down the back of the car from where the screen wash runs.

I held off using it for the whole week practically, but by then the rear screen was opaque, and I wasn't going to drive for 5 hours yesterday (with daughter in car) on various motorways without being able to see what's behind me (more often than not, a BMW driver ).  Rear view mirror is pretty useless if you can't see out the glass!  Safety before beauty.

I've embraced the salty stripes.  Once it's that dirty it just becomes a mission to make it look as bad as can be.   If you can't beat it.......

I agree it does look good like that. It wears it's dirt well.

However the sun came out for a brief moment so I've done a quick (for me) wash.

I must be mad as I need to drive for 50 miles later so it won't be quite as clean as that soon but that's the fun of a black car. I'll never intentionally have anything else.

Ok I'll admit since I got the Jag I haven't spend much time cleaning/detailing the golf, but as the Jag is broken again I have been spending some quality time with the R and decided it needed a very very good clean
