All I'll say is "don't hold your breath for £20k R's unless wrecked ex-leasers in car supermarkets"
The market won't be that flooded as there's been massively long build times as VW only build them in small batches.
There was a spell where there was a lot of dodgy cheap business lease deals that went viral but VW didn't fall over themselves to fulfil all of the orders; heads rolled and production was kept at a normal (slow) level.
There will be a lot of low spec ones hitting the market at around the same time but with the demand for the things I doubt they'll be that cheap and most were underwritten by VW finance so will end up at inflated prices on main dealer forecourts.
The 7R is a bit of a cult car now as it's wins just about every road test comparison in the press and for a 300 bhp hatch is reasonable value if kept to standard-ish spec, therefore it's in the public eye and has had a lot of press. Being as 6R's still fetch a high price despite being vastly inferior to the 7R in all areas except looks I'd not get overly hopeful of £20k bargains if you don't like resprayed panels and chipped alloys.
Buying from a broker is a better bet so long as you have massive patience.
Or, like me you may find a cancelled lease order unexpectedly drop in your lap and end up with an unplanned purchase with zero wait!!!!
