Well some of us have been busy telling everyone how good these things are for a long time just in case anyone was in any doubt!

That's very true and I have taken notice of you, and others, extolling the virtues of the PedalBox. Today's little addition to my car is testament to that

I never doubted your word, but as I never had any issues with poor throttle response on my other cars, I was a bit surprised to experience it to such an extent on the 7R (I never test drove one) and am not one for jumping the gun before I've even taken delivery of the car, so had to experience it for myself, to see if it was something I could or couldn't live with.  I know the answer to that now and so do you.

Just got back from 'Dubfreeze' in Staffordshire.
Saw some great looking vans and a few lovely old Golf's and Corrado's.
Ugliest car I saw had to be the R estate in Lapiz blue that was parked on the mezzanine level. Seriously, what the hell have they done there? It's a minger from every angle and it didn't help that it was covered in swirl marks.
Each to their own I suppose but it is most definitely not for me

Sounds like a good day out.

Well my feelings about the R Estate are quite well known on here. I can understand why it would be an attractive proposition for some but like you, definitely not for me either.  Practical it may be, but pretty it is not. The rear end is a mess, looks very odd.  And you may have heard that two of the quad tailpipes are fake and not hooked up to the exhaust system.  Makes no difference to the power output and guess it keeps the back consistent but still, bit of a sham.
Yes it was a good day out apart from the weather and the mud.
Two things really ruined it for me though..... a horrendous hangover which I take most of the blame for and that god awful R estate which is someone else's fault entirely!!

Is that so? I have thought that the .:R Estate would have looked better with twin tails like the GTD. Giving it a more understated Q car appeal.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

It would definitely be a Q car with 2 pipes, but it would be out of keeping with the R rear look.  And I think you might be in a minority thinking that.

I just saw my first R estate today.
I had a bit of a nose at a black Lex Autolease GTD estate last week parked up in a car park and thought it looked OK in the flesh. R estate very stealthy.

Nah, too big for me. My boot is fairly empty as it is!
Standard Golf hatch is as big a car as I'd want.
Smaller and lighter is more my thing.
Big torquey engine in as light a shell as possible.

I had a Polo G40 many many years ago which was great fun but getting a pushchair in the boot was a challenge!
I also had a Polo GTI 1.8T when they were released (or shortly afterwards as I bought one of the launch cars with a few thousand miles on the clock) which was huge fun once REVO'd but it gave me back ache.

Having driven my GT which is pretty much the same set up beneath I decided not to got Polo GTI, unless 5 doors were a must it would be Fiesta ST all day long
