I wonder how the R would cope with snow on summer tyres.
Hope I don't have to find out!

Great pics Ms B (as ever).

The car looks very businesslike with a layer of filth on it.
I bet I know what sort of treatment is waiting for that paintwork as soon as you get chance!
How many buckets?

Glad you had a good trip, sounds like you enjoyed it all and I hope you didn't frighten your passenger(s) putting the R through its paces!

Stunning car in a stunning location. I'm lucky enough to have those Dales on my doorstep - one of the great advantages of living in God's own county. Much as I loved driving my old Mk6 on those roads and will love them in the R, my biggest pleasure comes from covering them on my road bike. Cycling in the Dales is very special!

I was really hoping to find out how the summer tyres would fare.  The one disappointment of the trip being the lack of snow!

It's beena great trip apart but I now need to persuade HWMBO that our next property investment purchase should ne a nice little cottage up this way..  I will start to sow that seed on my return.

My passengers loved it!  Especially my Dad, who doesn't often get the chance to be a passenger.  He spent an inordinate amount of time taking us on family drives when I was a kid, so my turn to return the favour!

It certainly is stunning, you are very lucky to have it on your doorstep.  I come from Brighouse/Rastrick area originally so had the great luck of growing up round these parts (until we moved to Lancs), and it will always hold a very special place in my heart.

Cycling is a given, lol. Grew up in cycling fraternity (used to time trial myself long ago).  My dad co-founded the Condor Road Club (based in the area) and is the only surviving founding member which depresses him no end, haha.

I lost count of how many cyclists I saw today.  Plenty going up Holme Moss.  Not for the faint-hearted cyclist!

Haha!

The dark pics were taken at about 4pm under blackened skies on a crappy iphone ;-)  Brighter ones taken in the morning.  I like the dirt!

The latest addition!

Fitted the pedal box today. My throttle pedal has been shaken from its lazy slumber.  What a transformation it is.!!!  It honestly feels like the car has awoken from a 5 month nap. Why is it not like this from the factory???    Tried a few settings and have settled on setting Sport +1 for now.

Anyway, armed with lots of fitting tips from fellow forum members and quite a few views of the DTUK fitting video https://youtu.be/EabRvM_-iIE the installation went smoothly, took about 15 mins.

Having heard a few horror stories about the very tight tolerances of some of the connectors and the risk of the grey clip breaking rendering it unremovable, As a precaution I decided to do the install in a slightly different order to the official video just in case it all went pear-shaped then I wouldn’t be left with a half install and an immobilised car.  I took my time and it all went according to plan thankfully.

Here’s the obligatory installation pics - managed to take a few along the way

The kit

Locate the trim plate - removing this makes it much easier to access the connectors.  One Torx screw to undo then just slide it backwards to remove.

Locate the oem connector above the throttle pedal and push the red button inwards and upwards till it unlocks, then pull the whole black connector off.  The red button was very, very stiff and took a lot of perseverance but eventually released.

Take the black pedal box connector (one without the grey button) and slide it into the oem red clip connector until it clicks. Some have had trouble with this being a very tight fit but I had no problem with it at all.  They key is to ensure you align the little notch on the back of the connector with the corresponding slot on the red button connector.  The other key is to make sure you slide it in perfectly straight and not at an angle, then it should slide in ok.

Once pushed in a far as it will go, push the red clip inwards and downwards until it locks down into place.  Again this was stiff and took a lot of  effort but the clip locked down eventually.  Check it is secure.

Take the other remaining pedal box connector (the one with the grey button) and slide it over the port above the throttle pedal (the one from which originally housed the the red button connector).

Push the connector down and click it into place and the grey button moves upwards and locks.  Check it is secure.

Replace the flat trim piece by sliding it back into place and securing the Torx screw.

I decided to keep the pedal box controller in the driver’s side cubby, so just half opened the cubby and fed the cable and controller over the gap at the back.

Nice job Rebecca, should make a big difference to your R if the throttle lag is as big an issue as I've heard
