It's more the brokers websites than actual dealers that I'm looking for just to give me an indication of what discount I could possibly achieve. BMW are not quoted on DTD, Carwow, orange wheels etc

Which Beemer are you looking at Craig?  Why don't you hold out a few months and go for the M2

If only Mark, it looks awesome. It's a bit outside my price range and I think they may be all sold out but I would love one that's for sure

I test drove a DSG on Saturday whilst I erm and ah over R or club sport. My 3 years finish in September so now is a good time to change. Been told that specs 'should' be released by end of Jan. So I will wait until early Feb before I actually decide. All I can say is that the power is so planted and stable even in the light snow we had over the weekend. Comes to life when you want it. I now see what everyone has been raving about.

The question is spec for me leather (is it worth It now that the nipper is older and less prone to making a mess) or the standard and paying a local upholsterer to do me a custom job for a similar price. With Reversing Camera sat Nav car net app and keyless as a must. I'm leaning towards buying my own BBS rims.

But defo leaning towards an r at the moment.

I'm the same, I have ordered a GTD estate for me but we are thinking of changing my wife's Mk6 GTi for an R, the best price we got was £33,673 and that was for a 5 door DSG in oryx white and with over £5,200 worth of extras(excluding paint) but they are so common around here that I find it a surprise to see a GTi

We are almost set on a Clubsport now though because it will be a keeper. Our dealer has said the same about the Clubsport details being announced at the end of this month so we are waiting until then to see what way we can spec it.

I'm a bit hesitant on the club sport especially after seeing the German spec and the inability to spec certain extras with bucket seats. Dealer did concede that diesels have taken a bit of a hammering on GFV due to some part to dieselgate and also the uncertainty surrounding the the future taxes that may be levied against diesels.

Either way I will wait until early Feb before making decision I have seen the offer on the S3 on DTD but that was a 3 door when I last checked plus they don't offer px carwow through back some good deals but to get equivalent spect to an r costs.

We are the same about the spec on the Clubsport. That is why we are waiting to see what the options are. Can't really go by the German one because they get different things to us.

Same here for the Clubsport, but will have to see final UK spec. Seems a lot of the info on the German configurator is not correct, but for sure some kit can't be taken with the buckets.

Still torn on an R, if they did free leather then I'd be in, even though I now see loads around.

I don't mind the thread hijack but it seems logical to start a dedicated Clubsport thread - helps if anyone looking for info or chat on the Clubsport, an R thread not the obvious place to search.

I need to bring this thread up-to-date as I was kind of planning to use it as my 'R progress' thread but have fallen behind.  Also intend to add a follow up '6 month' review in March.

So yeah.......GET OUTTA MY THREAD!    (sorry, was I shouting )

Not as many as I expected Ian.  Only 2300 atm. Normally I would be looking at over 3k by now.  Reason it's lower is we now have the Beast (Amarok) which is 4 doors and as other half loves it, seems to get used for family duty at weekends.  Prior to that he had a 2 seater van so my car did all the family stuff.

Don't mind, R is used every day by me weekdays for work, so plenty of me and it time together, lol. Apart from the school run (mornings only) it's usually just me in the R, so can drive it just the way I like.   And got a trip to back to my home county - West Yorks in 3 weeks (to visit my folks), so get some more miles on it in the Pennines and will be taking it over Snake Pass for some fun.  Looking forward to a change of scenery and some much missed hills (proper northern ones)

But the car is going great Ian, apart from the full lock 'crunk'.  Some days I notice it and others, not!  Would dearly love some snow to try it out on but not looking likely.  Done a few cosmetic mods as you probably know and must update these in this thread - will do that in next couple of days.  And then there's the detailing side, which is a way of life, haha.  Never ends!

I love the car.  I've even turned the soundaktor back to audible volume (normal) this week as I fancy a bit of fake noise.

I know you got some issues with yours Ian.  What's the latest?  VW still not playing ball?
