Really glad you are getting used to it.  It's is a  fantastic bit of kit. No need to apologise at all, just great to hear you are out there enjoying the car.

When I first changed over to DSG, one thing I found myself doing was tucking my left foot under which led to a crooked, achey ankle.  Took me a while to train myself to stretch that leg out and use the footrest/dead pedal rest.

Well as a regular practitioner of both yoga and pilates, I can tell I could've tucked it under my posterior, but the chin would be at the limits of my flexibility.

No, I just seemed to end up twisting it inwards and tucking it sort of under the seat. Just couldn't stop doing it for ages, and then when I would get out after a longish journey, I would have to hobble out in pain.  Part of the reason I bought a dead pedal plate for my Mk6 was to try and lure my foot towards it with a bit of bling. It finally worked and I never do it now.

Reminds me, I must order that new cover for my R dead pedal.....

I so wish Mrs W had ordered the Prets, maybe I should lend her mine

Glad you are enjoying it, total allrounder, easy to potter and then engage manual when you want some more fun

Its the time of year when it comes into its own

Give mrs wigit your Prets, bet they look great with NB   They are fiddly to clean though.

It's a great all rounder, sedate and subtle when you want, then a little monster at other times.  I'm already having a blast in the damp. It's going to be a fun winter this year.

I test drove a DSG on Saturday whilst I erm and ah over R or club sport. My 3 years finish in September so now is a good time to change. Been told that specs 'should' be released by end of Jan. So I will wait until early Feb before I actually decide. All I can say is that the power is so planted and stable even in the light snow we had over the weekend. Comes to life when you want it. I now see what everyone has been raving about.

The question is spec for me leather (is it worth It now that the nipper is older and less prone to making a mess) or the standard and paying a local upholsterer to do me a custom job for a similar price. With Reversing Camera sat Nav car net app and keyless as a must. I'm leaning towards buying my own BBS rims.

But defo leaning towards an r at the moment.

In terms of residuals I'm wondering if it's too big of a risk to purchase an R at this moment. There seems to be loads of them on the road and with all these cheap lease deals coming to an end soon the second hand market is going to be flooded with them. I pass by my local dealership everyday on the way to work and they've had a brand new white R sitting in the forecourt for at least 4 months. This was unheard of a year ago.

I know you can get some cracking deals just now but when it comes to trade in time God knows what you will get offered. I always thought buying a VW was a pretty safe bet for good residuals but I'm not convinced any longer.

Perhaps the clubsport is the better one to go for.

I'm quite dissapointed in VW in terms of what they've done with the R by allowing/encouraging these cheap lease deals. Seeing an R on the road should be an event and a car that really turns your head because of its scarcity but that's just not the case. Yes, it gets a great write up but it's just lost that specialness in my eyes because of how often I see them. It's a real shame
