Does anyone know how the buckets for a 3 door work? Do they have the same easy acess lever the normal 3 door has for the rear seats?

Dave

They tilt forward - same Recaro option seats that have been on various VW and Audi's in recent years.

I can't see 5dr on any UK press release though.
You have a press release and have forgotten to put up the photos again?!!!

If the Clubsport will be 5 Door as well, then I may also be interested.  The interior of the Clubsport looks great with the Bucket Seats and Alcantara.  But the performance increase of the R for little extra money is still almost swaying my decision. When do the order books officially open for the Clubsport?

Heres a question for you:  If you were to drive mainly B Roads and single carriageway A Roads as I do living in Cornwall, would you go for DSG or Manual?

I got a dealer update sent last week, which I assume was from an internal news system of VW UK's?

Pretty much same as the news release on the UK website, but states 3 and 5 door and order books open in January.

What do you have now?
I have Manual now and always have.  Never had DSG or any other auto box before, but recently tempted to try it.  But on other hand am intrigued if it is going to be worth the extra cash if I am driving around single carriageway A and B roads in the depths of Cornwall and Devon.  So thought I would ask you guys from personal experience whether I should take the punt or not?

On another note I had a call from VW Exeter just a couple minutes ago asking if I had received the email for £1000 off for loyal customers to VW.  The gist of it was I had to register a car by March the guy said and order the car before Jan 31st.  Sales must be a bit slack this time of year.  I told him I was holding out for the Clubsport or if not sold with 5 Doors,  a Golf R instead.  So may not take him up on his offer just yet.

In regards needing DSG if you live in Devon and Cornwall and mainly do A and B road driving I would say no. I've just got my first ever UK auto (lived in US and had autos there), it's a Mk7 Golf GTi DSG PP.  Plus points for me are pootling on the morning commute, just keeping it in D and managing stop-start traffic with ease and not needing to worry about my left leg.  Downside for me is you know the machine is in charge.

Is this Clubsport a replacement for the Edition 40?
Current: BMW M140i / ZF8 / 5 DR
Past: MK7 GTI / DSG / WHITE / 5 DR

It is indeed. It has little 40th Anniversary graphics as well as Clubsport logos.
I think VW have done a good job of making the 40th Edition a bit special and different.

@Brenbo:
I really think you'd need a test drive lasting several days to familiarise yourself with DSG and whether it suits your driving style or the roads you use it on.
I've spent a few periods of time with DSG and BMW autoboxes and prefer manual boxes for more rural driving as I just find I can set the car up for a quick bend a bit more smoothly. I also like the turbo spool feeling as the torque ramps up at peak boost which is masked with a DSG. City driving lends itself better to the DSG and cross country it doesn't matter either way as these cars have so much torque over such a Rev range you rarely have to change gear!
DSG just requires a bit of adaption and you'll find it either suits your driving or it won't.
If you're really happy with a manual then maybe you can say "why change?" But if you fancy a DSG you can say "why not?"
Most people on here who try it say they'd never go back.
It's just a bit artificial for me. It's the car equivalent of autocorrect.
