The wheels in the first pic - the ones that look a bit like prets - are far nicer.

Dubai Autoshow brochure.

The other rims, presumably are the forged 18's, but they look more like 19's in the those pictures? A little like the R Prets.

Dave

Good find.

The pics of the forged wheels remind me of the early press pics of the Austin wheels on the GTI that VW sometimes still use in their advertising. A fair bit of artistic licence goes into those pics and the Austins also looked like 19's and looked at least 9" wide with massively lowered suspension! Typical brochure shots.
They'll look much smaller in the flesh, maybe there will be a few different wheel options? They certainly look a handsome design from those shots. They remind me of Audi RS wheels.

Trying to decipher or translate the brochure, does that mean it is 265bhp & DSG ONLY?

That'a shame if you can't have a manual!

In the second picture (the brochure with the Arabic writing) there are clearly three pedals. So surely it'll be offered in manual too.

3 door suits me fine, not bothered either way with the gearbox. Wheels look great. I'd definitely like one! Probably not in white though. Red would be great. Pretty sure my pocket won't stretch to one though and my OH would kill me, and not in a nice way, if I started going on about cars again so soon after my latest purchase! It took her 12 years to get over the last one

Yep, confirmed by VW UK press release, 4 and 5 door and DSG and Manual.

2x Wheel styles, the 18" forged (Like Prets) and the other 19's above.

Supposidly standard in Oryx, but doubt this will happen.

Think it will be PP Diff, not XDS.

Buckets supposed to be standard, and all press releases mention this.

Does anyone know how the buckets for a 3 door work? Do they have the same easy acess lever the normal 3 door has for the rear seats?

Me too but the pricing will be very close to the Golf R  ...... I feel Volkswagen need to revise the Golf R as it now seems the R400 may never happen.

Perhaps give a better spec along with a price increase:-

Bucket seats with full leather interior
Sat Navigation
Keyless
Winter Pack
Increase in performance to 380bhp / 450nm
Upgraded brake system

Dave

They tilt forward - same Recaro option seats that have been on various VW and Audi's in recent years.

I can't see 5dr on any UK press release though.
