Mostly GTD and R ,with a few GTI - most appear to be well specced too - I guess that's Aberdeen for you, with lots of higher spec models or expensive cars going around.

I see at least 5-6 on my 60 mile round trip daily...but can see that many Aston or Porsche as well :D

And you've got proper driving roads up there.  Makes these cars even more of a joy to own.

Definitely see more GTD's than GTI's about in general probably at about a ratio of 10 to 1 or 2 when I am out and about at work. Closer to home there is another R (LSG) I see and a white GTD too but no GTI's at all that I have seen  :undecided:

I see lots of GTD's, hardly any GTI's and a couple of R's.  All the R drivers refuse to look over and give me a nod, bar one - he was in a Lapiz Blue so maybe its a colour thing?!

I live in Cheshire but work in Greater Manchester. I'm not joking but R's are literally ten a penny. It's nuts! I put it down to 'lease-gate'! GTD's are most numerous followed by R's and lastly GTI's. So, that makes GTI's the most exclusive.. how ironic

I still remain baffled as to why VW allowed the R to be leased so ludicrously cheaply. It's devalued the R brand and clearly there was no need as the plaudits it's received from the motoring press would have seen it being a success anyway. If I had one I would be annoyed seeing so many on the road as you want it to feel a bit special and rare which it should be.

Instead because of leasegate you now have guys who were formely driving clapped out Clio's and Corsa's etc sitting in a car they would never have been able to afford. These guys are going to have a major problem when their lease ends and i would be intrigued to see what they end up in.

p.s. to answer the question I see hundreds of GTD's, at least one R per day and very few GTI's. Doesn't seem like it should be right but thanks to VW they've made the GTI rarer than the R

They'll just pull the dust covers off their SORN'd Clios and hit the roads again!

The canny ones will just pick up another cheap lease from whatever manufacturer is doing cheap sporty car lease deals at the time, the others will chalk it down to experience and just move on. Not all of them will have fallen in love with their R's. I think the plaudits from the press will keep the values pretty decent by mass produced throw away society car standards. VW tend to be pretty good for retaining value and hot Golfs even better (up to a point).

Always see a lot of GTDs in the Greater Belfast area but then quick diesels have always been popular in Norn Iron - which is what I'm hoping when it comes to selling the FR

Although I do play the 'spot the R' game when I'm with my youngster in the car - rarely make a journey without seeing one   - nice red one just moved in round the corner from me.

And I suppose the GTI seems to be rare these days as a lot of potential GTI drivers are driving the Golf R

Ok maybe not the best word to use. I don't mean financially but I'm instead referring to them becoming accustomed to the power and quality of the car. I can't see many other cars with the performance of the R being offered so cheaply in the future.
