In the work car park there's a 15-plate R, 15-plate GTI and my 15-plate GTD

In my flat car park there is mine along with a 15-plate Match

Around North Tyneside I regularly see a few white Rs, a Tornado red R and a Lapiz R (I caught the owner of the Lapiz one having a close inspection of my Prets when we were both parked up at the Odeon at Silverlink. He said he wished he'd ordered the Prets.

Lots and lots of GTDs, there are 4 that live in the few neighbouring streets to me, i'd say around a third of all VWs under 2 years old on the roads around me are GTDs. A GTI is a rare sight around my area though.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

If I turn left at the end of my road and head about a mile into the next village there are two if not three white R's just in that village.
Around my area I see so many GTD's I barely even notice them unless they have something about them that stands out. Many or most are just company cars and probably half of them are just visiting firms in the area as part of their working day so probably live on the motorway. If I had a company car there's little doubt that I'd be running a GTD too.
I see quite a few R's about locally. Some on private plates that look like they live in the area and others again are company cars passing through the area. Most of the R's I see are white or blue.
GTI's? There aren't many about. I regularly see two red ones, one of which lives around the corner from me and another in the next village. The ones around the Exeter area I see are nearly all white 5 doors but there aren't that many.
I see one GTE regularly in grey. I quite often see it so it must get a fair bit of use!

I spent a bit of time recently in the North West around Manchester and there were a lot more GTI's about than 'down south'. Lots and lots of GTD's too. A good few R's to boot and they were all being driven pretty hard!
Then I had to go to Middlesex for a flying visit and it was all GTD's.
Followed by a day in Cornwall which I saw two R's just heading down there (neither of which acknowledged me with so much as moving their eyeballs in my direction) and a few holiday maker R's parked up in various places, no GTI's and a smattering of GTD's.

You've been paying attention just a bit then Mr Ex.

You certainly seem to like your white goods in your far flung corner of the country   (sorry!  payback for denigrating the wonder that is DSG )

That's because it takes an eon to make one!  Still bitter and twisted about the 9 month wait

Hmmm, turn right eh? I've never thought about turning right. Must try it sometime.
They all drive goats and donkeys out that way so best avoided!

Only joking! It's towards the city that way so just the usual mish mash of everything and it tends to be who's wearing the shortest skirt that tends to be more noticeable than what's parked up at the traffic lights (my hazard awareness training obviously coming through there).

PS. The only wonder about DSG is the wonder that people actually spend £1400 just so they can pick their nose and perform Michael Flately impressions with their redundant leg simultaneously!!!
Possibly.

You're quite right though, we do seem to like our white goods.
Must be to do with our monochrome vision (side effect of too much inbreeding)!!!

Mostly GTD here, a few R but almost no GTI PP.  Guess people that can afford the fuel go straight for the R.

Mostly GTD and R ,with a few GTI - most appear to be well specced too - I guess that's Aberdeen for you, with lots of higher spec models or expensive cars going around.

I see at least 5-6 on my 60 mile round trip daily...but can see that many Aston or Porsche as well :D
