It's really seemed to cheer you up Memsahib B which is great news in itself.
Hopefully now you'll really enjoy your holiday with an extra spring in your step.
Not even an occasional drop of tropical rain will dampen your spirits now!

Time to get the GTI advertised and shifted when you get back and count down the days knowing it will still be a mk7 after all and even on a 65 plate too!!!

The car will definitely live up to expectations, it's a really great bit of kit.

You know it has really cheered me up, Mr Ex!  Sorry if I've been a bit of a miserable cow of late. :embarrassed: (if that's what you're trying to tell me  )

I am thoroughly enjoying my holiday, it's beautiful and relaxing.  And coincidentally the BW luck seems to have worked here and swept away the rains.  Hot, hot, hot today, phew!

I had all but sold my Mk6 GTI a few weeks ago to someone who came on this forum looking for one, but a problem on the buyer's side (not connected to my car) meant they had to pull out.  Anyway, I have another potential buyer for my Mk6.  Another forum member.  So hopefully things will work out, and if not, I'll get it advertised.

And turn my attention to the Mk7 R........

...and now....,

the book is open for bets on which 19" tyres it will be shod with???  (but that's a whole other thread )

maybe its many years of working with females that means I can pick up on subtext or maybe I've inherited psychological profiling from my father(!!!) but your frustrations were affecting other things Ms B and things were generally getting you down  :smug: and now we have a much cheerier you which is much more *you*

The posts from the other guys on the subject over the last couple of pages sum it up very well.

I think, a bit like MH's huge saga, it will be a bit of an anticlimax for everyone once your car actually does arrive - our little soap opera will be over!!!

Maybe with the way your luck has turned you'll get a set of Contnental's finest! But a bit like detailing, tyres are a necessary evil and a subject that cures my insomnia no end. Zzzzzzz...

(I find my Bridgestones "ok" by the way, maybe I just don't drive the car hard enough?)

You are a wise owl.  Your insights into the female emotional psyche, could make you either a very wonderful husband or a truly terrible one!  I'm gonna go with the former.

Flippin' Heck, have I been that bad?  :embarrassed:  I apologise wholeheartedly to all.  Work has (and is) very stressful atm and I guess I just made the car debacle the focal point for all my pent up negative energy.  Anyway, the last thing I wanted was for my R order to become a 'soap opera', that's really not me at all.

But onwards and upwards and normal cheery service is resumed, though I cannot guarantee it will last forever as, that's life!

So, tyres and detailing make you want to Snoozzzze.  Which bits of a car do thrill you Mr Ex?

Btw, I really appreciate all the posts from the guys on here, and there a a few special people (I won't name names) that really make this place.

apparently Wolfsburg factory was closed last week hence why production has been slow. Mine is at Emden waiting to be shipped. Was really hoping it may arrive by start of September but now im doubtful.

I'm far from wise Ms. B, but it was 25 years in June that I was dragged kicking and screaming down the aisle so I must have done something right not to have been booted out by now! I think it's my agony aunt role to the 'women of a certain age' at work that has earned me most of my stripes though
My workplace is like a REAL soap opera at times.

But I meant soap opera in a nice way for your car order, same with MH's it has kept everyone gripped with the plot twists and turns and the emotional roller coaster. More of a light hearted northern soap opera with a bit of dry humour that wins people's hearts than a miserable East End soap opera!

This place is pretty good. Like you'd imagine Golf owners to be really; nobody really has anything to prove, everyone chips in with questions and advice, plenty of humour and quite good self moderation (gives James an easier ride!)

That gives me an idea for another thread...

Back on topic.

I have a sudden feeling of deja vu, you're nothing if not a bit predictable Mr W!

Err, we know....http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=274468.msg2517107#msg2517107

That's why all the BW37 confirmation texts are a few days late and coming in the same week as BW38 ones.

Stay patient, hopefully it will be sailing across the sea very soon.

So I could just have bought yours wigit and saved myself a whole load of heartache.  Now you tell me.

Make sure you take your camera to Frankfurt and furnish the forum with teasing pics of things to come.....

Are you still thinking of an R400?  It seems to be a very long time coming!!!

Well your menopausal lady colleagues are very fortunate to have you in their midst, as are we (men and women).   I'm not going to ask, but I'm now intrigued as to your job (and your father's).

Much belated congratulation to you and Mrs Ex on your 25 years.  It's quite an achievement by today's standards, so whatever you have been doing for the last quarter of a century , keep doing it.  Me and my long suffering man have managed 24 so far, but somehow we forgot to tie the knot along the way, lol.  An actual marriage ceremony is not my scene, can't be doing with all that palaver, and could spend the money on a car instead.

And 24 years ago is roughly the last time I watched a soap opera.  But, yes, better a northern one with a large dose of very dry humour, that doesn't take itself too seriously, than the abject misery of the East End alternative.  I'm afraid the first few notes of that theme tune make me want to reach for the razor blade!!

This place is truly great, and James is the best kind of moderator, although I think we need to chuck in the odd rogue thread /post now and again just to make sure he's paying attention.

And back on topic .......wigit's Frankfurt beano - well, he's carrying out a valuable mission on behalf of all of us.  It's a dirty job but wigit's got to do it.

R400 will need to be limited numbers for me to buy it, M2 is really tugging at the heart strings, RS3 still leaves me cold, I have a GTS or GT4 hankering
