Wheel and shell vibration.
« on: 11 June 2015, 22:03 »
I've got some slight wheel and shell vibrations after having coilovers fitted (Jom), a tt arb and spacers (5mm) at the front. Now at motorway speeds the steering wheel vibrates and I can also feel it through the seat. Anybody tell me why? I was fine before I fitted these parts.

Cheers

Bolts all tight?

Vibration dependent on speed?

Yeah I've checked the bolts, it happens at around 70mph.

Spacers are hub centric?

When had you wheels balanced last?

You wheels are now further out, which can amplify any imbalance, particularly at higher speed.

Hubcentric 5mm? Is there such a thing? You sure your wheels are sat correctly on the hubs?

Haven't balanced the wheels since I bought the car nearly 2 years ago.

I bought the spacers from eBay.
