Well I shall tell you all how I got the car and what I have done so far,

Spec:
White Mk2 Golf GTI
1.8 Digifant
8v
H reg
roughly 150k on clock
lowered dont know how much

Right I bought my little beast back end of 2004 I think it was 770 pound it cost me off ebay,
but things never went smoothly I aquaplained off the road 2nd or 3rd day I had it bent the hub and strut.
bodywork was in good condition I thought apart from a dent in the rear quarter panel
and it had a towbar on it which had to go A.S.A.P, i was low on funds so i could not do anything straight away

here is a few pictures of when i bought the car

after them pics the first thing I got myself a eyebrow spoiler for the front end
I got the dent pulled out and painted by my cousin and small dent in the passenger door done
I sawed the towbar off after I was getting bullied by it lol
and took the black lower spoiler off bottom of rear bumper also i changed the interior
as my drivers seat was bent and torn so I picked up some new interior for 80quid
got no photos though of it.

I also got shot of them 5 spoke wheels as I hated them and got some cheap ones for 40quid
i thought they looked better then mine and I half smoked my rear lights aswell to try get a meaner
look for the car.

heres some pictures of what it looks like these days apart from towbar which is removed
and the black spoiler on bottom of rear bumper

in november time 2004 month or so after i had the car the head gasket went
and it knackered my cylinder head up which needed replacing so I got another head
for 80quid delievered and I got told 2 weeks to get fixed but I never got it back till mid january
everything was not going right and I was getting messed about basically so I took it home
on a lorry and had it fixed at home within a week.

then i thought everything was going to be ok until 2 weeks ago when the head gasket went again
cylinder head knackered once more I found out the head had nto been skimmed so I got sick
at this point and decided to put the car away in the garage where it still is now
and i went out and bought a vr6 lump with all running gear etc to put into my car
so its becoming one hell of a project for me as I dont have all the equipment and I have
not done anything like this before.

so far I have got my engine out driveshafts out well basically they is just a hole in my engine bay
I took all the front end off so it was easier to work on,
now I am waiting for a beam getting fitted into the garage roof so I can get the lifting gear in
to hold the vr6 engine and stuff, the beam is getitn made at the moment should have it this week

here is a couple of pictures of the start of me stripping the car down
I will update when I get more pics

small update starting to prep engine bay tomorrow if i get chance as its a bit rusty
also I found out I can get a clutch bracket from seat
part no 02B 141 708 A and it lets me keep a cable clutch instead of changing to hyrdaulic
so thats a bonus and a lot easier for me

hey folks decided to take a couple of pictures yesterday of the car a bit bare
enigne is out and has gone to a good home so I am awaiting this beam still
cant wait to get it

i got told i can use my loom on the vr6 so if this is right it should be alot easier
although i dont know what wire goes where

I had no lifting gear to get my engine out so i just put a strap round a beam
and me and a few mates ripped it out more happier now

hit a glitch today gonna hold me back couple of days

I took the old subframe out today pretty easy i thought
1 bolt snapped but was not important

i took the vr subframe off the engine and put it in
the mk2 and hookd the wheels up then i noticed the wheels were
way out of line only to find out the vr wishbones do not fit 2inch bigger altogether lol

so subframe came back out got the gti subframe to take the wishbones off to put on the vr subframe
but i need new bushes and anti roll bar end links aswell

so i cant do anything until i get them priced up and bought

well i got the bushes today to get slapped in the car so subframe should be in today
also last night i thought i would take my wiring out, i unplugged everything from fusebox
as wires were tangled up and i need to take servo off to get wires out which is a right chew on
as the bolts are aukward as hell to get at

ill post some pics a.s.a.p

ok I got small update of a few pictures not very clear taken on my m8s phone

here is the vr subframe fitted with poly bushes in

here is a picture of where the seat ibiza clutch bracket fits
to the vr6 gearbox so the cable clutch can be kept instead of goin hydraulic

here is my engine lifting gear all mine now
nice gift I though comes in handy put it that way

and here is just a random mess inside my car

all I am waiting for is the tool to take my drive shafts out and
my power steering pipes putting in then engine can sit in place

not been working on it for a few days time to get my dedication back I think
