I'd say no way worth 1600. Half that maybe.

Hi guys cheers for your imput

went and had another look at it today with a MK2 Enthusist... he said that it is worth that, yes the paint job & welding is good, awell as all the parts, it has a new set of JOM coil overs on it, PCD adaptors aswell as the Porche alloys being refurbed  & sprayed, with new tyres. (think thts why seller wants that for it) mainly cos of those parts

the wheels are all 8j, something to do with them normally being 8j on the rears and 7j on the front (i don't no know, rookie moment)

That's cool then mate, bare in mind that jom coilovers are about £150 new (and are terrible..), adaptors are worth about £100 second hand and the Porsche alloys prob £3-400 - tell him to forget the 'new' tyres, if they've been sat for a couple of years then they will be flat spotted if nothing else.

Might not be worth 1600, but I wouldn't say far off if the paint and welding is good. If you buy a running mk2 for 1600 it wont have an immaculate paint job and will generally just be a daily driven car. Getting a daily car welded and resprayed is going to cost more than 1600 anyway.

This is also pretty low mileage really. In my opinion its pretty good base.
It's a mk2. Fill it, drive it, enjoy it.

As is suggested on here every single time. You should buy a mk2 off body alone. If the body and paint is immaculate then it's definitely worth that. Once built you are looking at a car worth much more than that. 1600 to buy a show winner with low milage and only two owners. Literally everything else could be replaced on the car for 500 tops if you wanted to go down that route but you can never get a perfect shell again without serious money.

if it took a weekend to put back together then £40 for an mot it would easily go for 2k.

Upwards, since it has a new paint job and a solid shell. For 1600 I'm quite tempted haha
