I bought a karcher vacuum from b&q, think it may have been an end of line but it's great, I've removed the bag so I use it for 'damp' carpets too.

You'll love the sidekick, it's a great bit of kit and your neighbours will definitely think you've lost it

I'm using the household dyson vacuum which is just too cumbersome.  Last year I bought a handheld cordless dyson for the car but it lacks suction and battery charge is crap, so been eyeing up a Metro Vac one for a while, but it'll have to wait a bit now I've splurged on the dryer.

Neil, my neighbour is into motorbikes so he well understands my motor love.  No neighbour on the other side, just a hockey pitch - I live in fear of a stray hockey ball hitting the car, there's been a couple of near misses

Should be here for this weekend is I can try it out

Think it's this one that I've got?

Stray hockey balls, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night!

Tell me about it!  We've just replaced 200 roof and hung wall tiles that have been broken by hockey balls over the last 10 years (hockey club have agreed to pay for them).   It's a miracle the car has survived unscathed.  Fortunately most of the balls seem to gravitate towards the back garden.

As to the metro blaster I only have the small portable one (the Sidekick), but I use it all the time for drying the alloys as a) they are quite a difficult design to get dry with microfibres only as some water drips will always appear, and b) with the black paint on the alloys, I wanted to reduce marring which this seems to have done to a pretty good extent.

It's very powerful for its size, and probably could be used for the whole car but I think the bigger one is best. It's fantastic for drying the honeycomb grills though on any mark of GTI / GTD, as these are an absolute ba5s*rd to dry off

The sidekick is a great bit of kit, I wouldn't be without mine now and use it on every wash!

The Metro Vac Sidekick has arrived!   Thanks for the recommendation lads

Hope to try it out on the car later this week, but seems pretty powerful.  As an added bonus you can dry hair/fur from across the other side of the room, had to try that.  The cat does not like it, lol
