Just had a set of Bridgestone Potenza S001's fitted. So far, which admittedly isn't very far, so good. Damp grip is impressive

Got myself some Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymetric 2's recently and I love them! Much prefer them over the contisport 5's I had previously.

Speaking of tyres..I can get you guys 5% off tyres from blackcircles.com if you wanna give me a PM

JayGTD, in what way do you find them an improvement over the conti 5s?

I'm considering a replacement set of tyres in case my R comes with Bridgestones (which it no doubt will) and I can't get on with them (based on past poor experience).

They're so much quieter and a lot grippier! I can launch easier now on these tyres whereas before I would be wheelspinning on my 450NM torque

Thanks JayGTD

Must say a quieter tyre does appeal.  Conti 5s ok on the noise front but wouldn't complain if the were quieter still.  Grip I have found to be very good on the whole.

+1 for the conti 5's on my second sets on the front and think there great. Alloy protection wise just watch the kerbs ha ha, had my car 5 years now and never caught any of the rims!

Wish I could say the same.  Must be my sh!t parking

I'm also on my second set on the front, got 13k miles out of the first set, which is about average for conti 5s.  Out of interest Jimmy how many miles did you get from your first set?

Hmm at a guess I got just shy of 12 months so that would be around 9-10,000

I started a thread about this before cos I was going through tyres in 6 months covering about 5,000 which people said was a little on the high side. Granted I don't drive like a granny but I certainly don't fly around everywhere. These were conti 3's btw

The 5's much better wear ...

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Goodyear eagle F1's, no contest.

Yeah I remember that thread.  Well the conti 5's have done well by comparison then, getting double your previous.

only people still recommending Eagle F1s based on perfromance are those who have not switched to Michelin Supersports

Supersports all day long in wet or dry

+1, With you on that, but my choice is based purely on performance. Some people have different criteria, they maybe happy to trade off some performance for a lower price.

Good years for me. I had a look at the michelins and they were coming at 50 a corner more than the goodyears. I personally couldn't justify the extra expense. And I'm very happy with these ones.

Definately! Got them for about £68 a corner so can't complain
