I pop over to the R forum if I'm bored on a night shift and it does seem to have gone a bit quiet over there.
I do indeed even have a profile over there as I do on many forums just so I can use the classifieds!!!

I think that forum got all the waifs and strays that would have ended up here. The ones obsessing over a 0.001 advantage on a 0-60 (0-62?) and wanting a lease car for 50p a month then expecting to modify it like it was the 5 year old VXR they'd realistically have been buying in normal circumstances. The ones who sit on their laptops obsessing over lap times and worrying they might not have the fastest 0-60 time rather than just enjoying the car for what it is - a very sophisticated Golf hatchback which is mass produced the same as everything else they hanker after in their lives.
I used to get that in the days before the internet when I had an 8v mk2 Golf GTI
"My Astra GTE is half a second quicker than your overpriced Golf"
"Really, how interesting, unfortunately I don't live on a grand prix circuit, and by the way, what's that brown bubbly stuff on your rear wheel arches? And by the way that baseball cap makes you look a tw@t not cool"
Ok, I'd never be that rude really but you get my drift.
So yes, that forum is ripe pickings for a wind up merchant like R400 and he reminds me of Egbert Nosh on here who I used to find really funny. Drop in, drop a bomb and bugger off once the explosions start. Some of his posts look a bit random but in fact they're designed to have maximum effect I'd guess. He's a natural.
Mind you it would be funny if he did actually turn out to be 14!
As for the lease envy, I know a few on there have no idea of the concept of modesty and have their heads firmly shoved up their own self important arses but I can understand how a few of them felt when they shelled out £40k either "Oh, I just had it in cash knocking about" or on their PCP deals or whatever then found out a load of people could just wander in and hire them for next to nothing! That's gotta hurt!
Karma I guess!
Forums are funny places.
I did a trackday once and met a lad (nice guy) who had spent out loads on mods for his car, when talking to him in the flesh he was a) a little bit anal and b) despite being hugely modified he never drove his car to even 4/10ths of its performance as he was worried about it getting dirty!
"Are you out on track later?"
"No, I've just had my engine bay detailed"
Says it all really!
Mind you, I was driving someone else's car on track so can't talk!!!!!
