Certainally significant rot there but I'm glad its being saved. Anything can be fixed, whether its worth it is another matter but only one you can answer.

I doubt theres many of us on here haven't spent more on there car than its worth.  :)

I've certainly spent more than mine is worth, or probably ever will be. And mine was virtually rust free to begin with.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Makes me laugh when people criticise spending money on cars, 'oh it's not worth it! What a waste of money!!' While they are standing there smoking a ciggy!!

It might not be worth it to them, as probably haven't got the same interest in cars as me, same as I haven't an interest in smoking, but it's my money and I'll do as I like with it, as they do with theirs, without my criticism:-)

exactly how i feel. I mean I had a lot of people tell me in he past I might as well chuck my money down the drain but I enjoy my cars and even if it wont be worth the money I put in to it, its teaching me as I go and it entertains me and I have great fun chatting to people about it, going to meets etc so I dont really care.
And the way I see it is, if i prove people wrong and turn up at the shows this Summer in this beauty rust free, fully restored and painted its going to turn heads and drop jaws with how rotten it used to be and that will be worth a million times more than some printed notes in my pocket
