Taxed worse.........................

But a BIG plus one. Listen to Thom. Sad but true. Another forum member paid TOP bucks for a car that ended up crushed for the reasons he said. Shell was toast.

I mean yeah, I don't really know my arse from my elbow, so should probably heed the advice of more experienced members, who do know their stuff.

Still, I guess you know for the next one :)

It's no problem, its what the forum is for. A small amount of corrosion on the wheel arches is one thing, and usually easily dealt with, although done properly could still be a very expensive job, but the OP's car has gone way beyond the point of economic repair, and god forbid what may happen to a car like that in an accident!

It seem OP has gone quiet, understandably! but some feedback would be nice?

Sam and Chuff, you do say the nicest things

There is no doubt that belongs in the bin. OP only just bought is! Maybe go back to the seller and see if some kind of refund could be arranged, worth asking might have been an honest mistake. Whatever happens it a story to tell the grandchildren

I would guess it would be hard/time consuming to prove. It is a pain in the arse just to have VOSA re-do your test if you think its an unfair fail. Cant imagine how hard it is to prove past MOTs have been dodgy?

sorry forgot to check back...

the car has been off road for 6years and sat on someones drive after it failed MOT on sills....

i paid over the odds for it, but i always do, im a sucker for a nice looking car which has been neglected
they definitely saw me coming didnt they!

we are ploughing on with this one. Ive been up the body shop today doing bits to it, im helping to keep the cost down as the guy thats doing it is doing it as and when he has spare time sorta thing so it wont be that expensive. We have new inner & outer rear arches, back corner sections, bottom of rear panel, both inner and outer sills and its having a few bits cut out the suspention turrets and battery tray.
Had i of been able to take the kit off and inspect a bit better before i bought it i would of walked away but i have the car now and I reckon its worth saving if at all possible and my bodyshop friend reckons hes had worse so i may regret this but onwards it is!
