Yeah it should be covered, if yours is 2011 model I wouldn't be overly concerned about the tensioner.

yeah sept 2011 model. Manual   ,you think? i know there was a revised tensioner but thought was still problems?

Worth it for the timing chain alone then.  I had extended warranty on on my last mk5, didn't have any issues but there if needed, so peace of mind.  If I was keeping this car longer than 3 years I'd definitely get one.

Yeah think it is best. carnt quite afford a r

Well it's taken me 20 odd years to afford one, so not long to go now chris

You can add the pcv system to that list of things they don't cover as they wouldn't replace mine when it went at 30k miles. Crooks.

From what I've read they seem a better option than aftermarket warranties but as with any policy check the small print and expect some exclusions.

They are good as long as you keep up the servicing with VW.

The company who underwrites these policies (Mondial) is also used by quite a few other manufacturers like BMW and they've got a good reputation.

I'm thinking most ppl would say no. But those with the warranty who have had it save them a big bill would say yes!

Pcv is positive crankcase ventilation  system. If you checkout my oil leak thread it has the self study program on how it works posted.
