Sorry, been a bit busy the last few days so a bit late getting back on here.
I did consider the Santiagos when ordering as they look really nice but those little mini spokes in between the big ones would do my head in when cleaning. Plus I already had a set of 19" BBS so could in no way justify £900 notes on the 19" alloys. £600 and we'd have been talking, £900 is a rip off.
So I put the BBS on the car for a while and didn't think they suited the mk7 as well as the mk6 and started looking for an OEM style wheel that had TUV approval; that little episode lasted a few months before I settled on the Rondell 02RZ alloys above.
They're not the lightest but were quite inexpensive from a company that makes OEM wheels for Merc etc and look pretty OEM. The only real issue is the VW centre cap doesn't quite fit well enough so i kept the Rondell ones.
I'd wanted a set of Talladegas but there weren't any available at the time, typically at the moment there are a few sets for sale (in the ideal Scirocco offset too) as I thought the spokes would suit the bumper strakes, and now that the wheel is non R specific being standard on the Scirocco R Line, it didn't feel quite so 'wrong' to have them on a GTI.
