REAR TYRES BALD IN 5000 MILES

hi bought my GTD end of july 2014 it was secondhand with only 15k miles on it, i don't drive it much its mainly the mrs, she went to look at a horse (150 mile round trip) on saturday, when she got back said the car felt funny, i checked tyre pressure (the light hadn't come on) pressures were fine so i looked thinking maybe a bulge, the garage i bought car from had insisted fitting 4 new tyres before i took delivery, anyway the fronts are still like new but the backs are both bald from insides over 1/2 way across,i took car back to garage, asked if they had just put fronts on but no they had put 4 on and even showed me receipt,anyway they took car and put 2 new tyres on and had a 4 wheel alignment done which they say the camber was way out,
should i be worried or would camber bald tyres in 5000miles the car has dcc

If the alignment was out this could have chewed up the tyres. You only need to be concerned if they continue to wear at the same rate as they did previously.

If they do still wear fast, get the rear suspension bushes checked and also maybe the wheel bearings, although you would most likely hear the problem from these before you got any bad tyre wear.

Ask them if they check the bushes. If they didn't then no harm in asking them too.

Going by the picture in the other thread, you car has non factory spec wheels on it. Many on here have later found out that their cars have cheap replica wheels on them, probably due to the originals being damaged beyond economical repair. Yours appear to be VW accessory wheels, so no issues on that front, but is may point towards previous wheel-kerb interfacing which may well have bent something out of shape.

The tolerances are quite fine, so even the slightest amount of discrepancy in suspension geometry will cause uneven or accelerated tyre wear, so I would suggest that yours needs to be checked again by someone with the right equipment that knows how to use it.

it has just had 2 new tyres and a 4 wheel alignment they said the camber was way out

is it possible the alloys were spec'd from new, i spec'd ACS wheels on a new bmw before

If the wheels you show in your pic I've just checked out they aren't standard look a bit like audi wheels to me but they look good all the same. If you take one of you should find a manufacturers mark

Well hopefully that may have resolved the issue, so just keep a close check on future tyre wear with regular inspection etc.  if the problem persists then either get another 4 wheel geometry check done or start looking at other potential causes, as suggested.
