No summer tyres will be any good in snow. It's like going out in the snow wearing sandals, your sandals might be slightly better quality with the Goodyear and Continentals, they might cope with icy conditions but they're still not going to be ideal. The tread is designed to offer good grip on dry and wet roads.
To be fair there are "all season" tyres but they compromise on fuel economy by having a much higher rolling resistance.
