not sounding so good. hope you get it fixed.

I have rejected my car and VW have accepted this (though are moving so slowly)

BMW m135i ordered now. I liked VW and the GTI.. 3 of them.. but mk7 I had was dreadfully unreliable and customer service is WOEFUL now with VWUK.

Update No.5: I've got my GTi back. 9 days at the dealer, a new ECU and apparently a number of referrals to the UK tech team and it's seems the end of a saga. I'm a placid person but this was beginning to test my patience. You just don't expect a 16 month old car with 16k on the clock to be off the road. I'm hoping its a blip. I must admit to having a smile on my face for the short drive home from the dealer. I'm planning on keeping it for another 18 months or so and if it behaves I may then go for an R. If it lets me down again VW may be losing a customer !

Mike S - anything can go wrong at any time and with the mk7 still being relatively new it takes vw slightly longer to rectify. I think everyone expects a car to run forever these days apart from a quick service but in reality it rarely happens.

Ken - the job sheet went on and on. A new ECU plus a number of phone calls to UK Technical team for advice about clearing various error messages (who allegedly were slow in responding to the dealer). In the end I'm just glad to get it back. I've only done about 25 miles since but so far so good !

McM - I take your point. But that said my last 5 cars (4 BMW's and a Volvo) never ever let me down and only went to the dealers for routine servicing. Perhaps I've just been lucky and this ran out 2 weeks ago !
